Vintage Rosewood handled EKA Sweden knife made for Estwing. Folded length 4 inch, blade length 3 inch. U.S. Patent 4669188 is for a blade mounting system in a single block wood handle with an adjustable tension pivot pen. Lockback mechanism.Very comfortable size and shape of the handle. It has a nice feel. Big enough to grip, easy to manipulate. This is a very nice knife, no longer produced, similar to the EKA model 88. The blade material is high quality 12c27 Sandvik Stainless Steel. The blade structure is thin (see the pictures) helping make this a relatively light knife for its size. Note the brass handle pins and brass lockback pivot pin show only on the right side of the knife. On the left side you can see the slotted top of the blade pivot pin which allows adjustment of the tension on the blade.
The blade is formed with a Scandinavian bevel which allows creation of a very sharp edge. It is a bevel rather than a hollow ground.
This is a nice knife and hard to decide to let go from my collection.
