Bill Thomason Fixed Blade Hunter. #031:
$300.00
for sale is a rare piece of American custom cutlery history. This is an authentic, hand-crafted fixed-blade hunting knife made by the late William "Bill" Thomason out of Dalton, Georgia.According to *Levine's Guide to Knives*, Thomason began making high-grade custom knives in 1977. He was a highly selective craftsman and an early member of the Knifemakers' Guild back when it had fewer than 150 total members. Because he only made an estimated 700 knives total throughout his lifetime before retiring from orders, his work is incredibly rare and tightly held by collectors. While his standard folding knives are highly sought after, his fixed-blade hunters are even harder to find. This specific piece is a heavy-duty, field-ready custom fixed-blade hunter featuring a gorgeous drop-point profile and his trademark custom build numbering system, stamped **"031"** right into the rear tang. The blade has pepper spots and the leather is still soft and pliable with no damage.
